Three-Day Workshop Lays the Foundation for the Bangladesh Youth Coalition

From 4 to 6 May 2025, a three-day residential workshop at Rangamati Waterfront Resort, Gazipur, brought together 41 young leaders from youth-led civil society organizations across Bangladesh to build the foundation of what would become the Bangladesh Youth Coalition (BYC). Organized by Youth For Change Bangladesh Foundation with support from Plan International Bangladesh and SIDA, the workshop opened with a safeguarding orientation before participants introduced their organizations through a gallery of profiles, missions, and achievements.

On the second day, participants worked through facilitated sessions to co-create the coalition's shared vision, mission, and values, followed by a democratic vote to nominate the working teams that would drive the coalition forward. The Terms of Reference were reviewed and refined in detail, reflecting the group's commitment to transparency and collective decision-making.

By the third day, participants had designed thematic working groups spanning gender equality, climate action, and youth economic empowerment, and finalized a 12-month action plan. The workshop closed with the formal signing of the Terms of Reference, marking participants' official commitment to the coalition's shared principles ahead of its public launch later that month.
