100 Young People Form a Human Map for Climate Justice at Central Shaheed Minar

On 5 June 2026, BYC participated in the observation of World Environment Day 2026, co-organized by Youth For Change Bangladesh Foundation in collaboration with ActionAid Bangladesh, the Just Energy Transition Network Bangladesh, Shurjodoy Youth Society, C3ER at BRAC University, Oxfam in Bangladesh, The Earth Society, and Youth for Care, at Central Shaheed Minar, Dhaka.

Around 100 young people came together and formed a symbolic Human Map, demonstrating the power of collective climate action. Through a human chain and image theatre, participants raised their voices for climate justice, clean air, renewable energy, and a just energy transition, while highlighting the urgent need to protect vulnerable communities from climate change impacts.

From BYC, youths from member organizations including Youth For Uplift Bangladesh, Lal Sabuj Society (LSS), and Farhana's Brainstation joined the initiative, showing their commitment to building a sustainable and just future.
